Vision and Mission

Being part of the service team is more than just volunteering; it’s joining a Catholic community dedicated to serving the youth and youth leaders of the Montreal diocese, by being committed to a mission.

Mission of the Mission Jeunesse MTL service team:

Mission Jeunesse Montreal places young people at the forefront of the life and mission of the Church and empowers them to offer the best of themselves in the Archdiocese of Montreal.

Mandated by the Archbishop of Montreal, we serve various communities in their efforts to minister to teenagers (13-17) and young adults (18-35) through events, training, support and consulting. We endeavour to ensure that everyone who shares our mission is well equipped to form young missionary disciples who are living, loving and serving joyfully.

How to get involved

The Mission Jeunesse coordination team will assign tasks, roles and responsibilities to volunteer members of the service team. This will be done according to the volunteers’ gifts and talents, their availability, and the needs of the mission.

Ambassadors:

Represent our team at events and meetings with young people.
Promote our mission and events in your community and on social networks, as an extension of our team.

Virtual missionaries:

Contribute to our online presence by creating inspiring and engaging content.
Be a photographer at Youth Mission or network events.

Projects and events:

Assist in the planning and coordination of MTL Youth Mission projects.
Contribute to events through logistics, animation, hospitality, etc.

Availability and commitment

Mission Jeunesse Youth Ministry MTL values the unique availability of each individual. Rest assured that, at Youth Mission, we assign tasks and roles with great care, taking into account each person’s availability and gifts, as well as the needs of the mission.

The pastoral year runs from July 2024 to June 2025. Although most of our activities take place during the regular year, exceptional events such as Jubilee 2025 may involve summer projects.

By applying to be part of the service team, you are making a one-year pastoral commitment.

Criteria

Be between the ages of 20 and 35.

Be motivated by a desire to serve youth and youth leaders, and to support their spiritual and personal growth and leadership.

Be willing to be an ambassador for Mission Jeunesse Youth Ministry MTL, to be part of its vision and mission.

Have a positive attitude and be willing to work as a team in joyful hope.

Have a good understanding of and adhere to the Diocesan Policy for Responsible Pastoral Ministry and the Code of Ethics and Conduct

Availability to participate in team meetings and events.

Specific skills, such as communication, event organization or leadership, are an asset.

Demonstrate respect, integrity and compassion in all interactions with youth and youth workers.
